Dolphins Place CB Jason Allen On Waivers

To add Al Harris to the 53-man roster, the Miami Dolphins have placed cornerback Jason Allen on waivers. The 16th overall pick of the 2006 NFL Draft out of the University of Tennessee, the 6-1, 213-pound Allen has 172 tackles and 8 interceptions in 69 games with the Dolphins. Allen won the starting right cornerback job this season, starting the first seven games of the season before being replaced by 2009 second-round pick Sean Smith, who did an excellent job of shutting down perennial Pro Bowler Anquan Boldin on Sunday. Allen is signed through 2011. Any team that claims him will pick up nearly $600,000 in base salary this season and at least $980,000 in 2011.

Yep, Dumb. Allen will end up being decent. He's getting beat some right now but that's the life of a young defensive back.

Jason Allen really wasn't that good on D but special teams so that's going to hurt a little bit but Harris is a lot better and will teach our young guys some things

Weird move consider how Jason Allen just finally started producing and has overcome injury problems.

Outside of the first two games Allen was getting beat like a red headed stepchild at K-Mart.

Really when you look at it the first game was against Buffalo so he only did good against the Vikings so it was only 1 game...
