Not yet 30, Eli Manning has won a Super Bowl MVP, earned a Pro Bowl invitation, eclipsed 4,000 passing yards in a season and started every game during five consecutive years while leading the Giants to four playoff appearances. Yet Manning’s name continues to appear in Sports Illustrated’s annual poll of the NFL’s most overrated players. In the poll released this week, Manning received 4 percent of the votes — roughly 10 of 239 players. It was the fourth most of any player in the league, but also a decrease from 2009, when he received 7 percent. “I’m just trying to win games for the Giants,” Manning said when asked about the poll. “That’s my job, and that’s all I’m worried about.” He had not heard about the poll, adding it’s more for everyone else’s attention than his own, but this year’s results could be an indication that Manning is either earning more respect around the NFL or does not yet have enough. “I think anyone who understands football appreciates Eli Manning,” center Shaun O’Hara said. “I think he’d get a lot more appreciation if his last name was anything but Manning. That’s just kind of the gift and the curse he’ll have to live with.”
More then Eli's last name is a problem his real problem is his feast or famine inconsistancies....he's the most hot/cold QB in the league. You never know if he's gonne throw 4 TDs or 4 INTs but your pretty sure it will be one or the other. I wonder if he what's his name that's out of the leaugue hadn't soaked his hands in stickem in that SB if Eli would still even have a job in NJ
