| 49ers Overusing RB Frank Gore? | | |
Some observers feel the 49ers may be using running back Frank Gore too much this early in the season. Gore has been in on all but two offensive snaps in the first two games of the season and, given his history of injury, there may be problems down the road. Mike Sando of ESPN.com agrees the 49ers need to give Gore some rest if they're going to run the ball so much. Sando realizes why the 49ers keep him on the field. They are better with him, no matter the situation, but when going with such a tough run-oriented approach -- lots of 22 personnel out there with tight formations -- it does make you wonder whether Gore might benefit from some rest
