| 49ers Not Looking To Add An Inside Linebacker Despite Injuries | | |
The 49ers were thin at inside linebacker when the season began, and now veteran Takeo Spikes is hobbled with a knee contusion. Still, coach Mike Singletary said the 49ers will not just add an inside linebacker for the sake of it. Rookie Navorro Bowman played well as Spikes' replacement. In a pinch, the 49ers can use outside linebacker Ahmad Brooks on the inside, too. Singletary said rookie linebacker Keaton Kristick, who remains on the practice squad, is "not quite to that point" where he's ready for an NFL regular-season game.
