The 49ers hope rookie wide receiver Kyle Williams will be available to play this week against the Chiefs after being out of action since Aug. 15 with a big toe sprain. Williams would likely take over the punt return chores when he is available to play. Rookie Phillip Adams was the 49ers' punt-returner Monday night and his muffed punt in the fourth quarter proved to be a crucial turnover in the 49ers' three-point loss against the Saints.
