Shanahan Says Albert Haynesworth Will Be With Redskins Sunday

Head coach Mike Shanahan says Albert Haynesworth will be with the Washington Redskins when they open the season Sunday. Shanahan addressed Haynesworth's status Wednesday, a day after multiple reports said the Redskins were in discussions with the Tennessee Titans about trading the two-time All-Pro defensive lineman. Shanahan did not deny the trade talks, but he did his best to put to rest any chance of Haynesworth getting moved this week. Shanahan would not say whether Haynesworth will play Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys. He said such information would give a "competitive advantage" to the opponent.

Damn.. Looks like Shanahan really doesn't like Haynesworth. But either way, you can bet big Al will be playing Sunday night. Shanahan isn't an idiot, and he knows Albert gives him the best chance to win.

you're assuming haynesworth would give effort. IF he gives effort, yes, he would help them win. but, right now, that's a BIG if. By all indications, he will be giving no effort at all and will actually hurt their chances of winning. Unfortunately for the Cowboys, Garrett is not a great play-caller so he probably won't be smart enough to run right at him whenever he's in the game to see if he's going to give any effort.
