Ravens CB Lardarius Webb Likely Out For Week One

Lardarius Webb appears to be practicing fully and with few limitations, but there are signs pointing to the cornerback sitting out Monday night's season opener against the New York Jets. First, Webb is listed behind both Fabian Washington and Chris Carr on the team's depth chart, which was updated Wednesday morning. Second, coach John Harbaugh conceded on his weekly show (the aptly named John Harbaugh Show) Tuesday night that he is "not anticipating" Webb's presence. "We're not going to rule him out for Monday night, but I'm not anticipating him either," Harbaugh said as transcribed by the team. "I think either way it could go and [he'll return] shortly thereafter." Approached after Wednesday's practice, Webb said the decision was up to Harbaugh and trainer Bill Tessendorf. "I'm comfortable with whatever Coach has for me," Webb said. "If he wants me to get out and test it, I will. If he doesn't, then I won't. It all depends on how this week goes." Carr said his mindset has not been altered by Webb's return or the team's acquisition of Josh Wilson from the Seattle Seahawks. "I started at the end of the season last year, and offseason, that's been my goal," Carr said. "I want to play every down and continue to try to get better. That's always my thing. So I feel like I have continually gotten better through the OTAs, training camp until now. So yeah, that's my mentality, to play all the time. Whatever they want me to do, I'm willing to go out there and do it."

Just get him healthy before coming back, don't want him to come back to soon then be out again. Webb has great potential, can't wait to see this kid playing again.
