Giants Place QB Rhett Bomar, Six Others On The Practice Squad

The New York Giants have brought back seven players to the practice squad. QB Rhett Bomar, TE Bear Pascoe, OL Jim Cordle, DL Nate Collins, DB Seth Williams and DB Sha'reff Rashad all cleared waivers and were signed to the practice squad. The Giants also are bringing back TE Jake Ballard, who was waived earlier in camp. Bomar was released on Saturday when the Giants reduced their roster to 53, but the hope was that Bomar would clear waivers and be able to join the practice squad for the second straight year after the Giants acquired Sage Rosenfels. The team hoped to do the same with RB Andre Brown but Brown was claimed by Denver.

Was worried a bit that Bomar might've been claimed....but glad to hear we retained him. He has potential but still too green to be a backup. He could challenge Sage though for the gig next year.

Was hoping to keep Brown as well but thats the risk you take for placing young promising players on waivers. But he should find a nice role in Denver's backfield.

It's all good. Best of luck to Brown. I actually liked him over Ware.
