According to Pro Football Talk, Peter King of NBC Sports revealed the details of his recent conversation with Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt. According to King, Whisenhunt called Hall "the best of our four quarterbacks" in training camp. An undrafted rookie out of BYU, he is Derek Anderson's primary back-up. As far as players that are good to back-up, Anderson is near the top of the list, as he seems highly unlikely to merit a starting job for all 16 games in 2010. Whisenhunt acknowledged that Hall outplayed current starter Derek Anderson, strongly indicating that Anderson could be on a short leash.
This Hall guy definitely has some talent and a lot of enthusiasm, but really hard to know if he can walk onto the field and be a successful NFL starter.
Personally, I think Anderson will probably do OK, but if the team falls out of contention by mid-to-late season (which I expect), Hall will definitely be in there.
Max Hall showed great promise in preseason! The key is how will that translate into the regular season when play is much faster and will most likely play against the first teamers of the opponent! I do think that this was a great pickup for the Cardinals and can be a great prospect!
