New England Patriots WR Wes Welker said he's ready to start the new season, but admitted he may not be as effective as he continues to work back from a sprained ACL/MCL suffered in Week 17 last year. Welker has 346 catches over the past three seasons, a level he said he doesn't know if he can get back to right away. "I still feel like I'm a long ways off from that,'' Welker told the Boston Globe. "People say it looks the same. I don't feel the same. So I'm not going to put a number on myself. "My deal is going out there and playing as hard as I can every single play, and just trying to do my job. Whatever it is at the end is what it is."
