Originally hopeful Malcolm Kelly would return to practice Tuesday, Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said the time-table for the third-year receiver's return has changed again. Kelly, out since July 29 with a hamstring injury, isn’t expected to play Saturday night against Baltimore. “If you’re 50, 60 percent [healthy] today, I would say the chances are very, very slim [of playing],” Shanahan said after Monday morning’s practice. While other receivers like Devin Thomas (44-yard touchdown catch), Anthony Armstrong (4-yard TD reception) and Brandon Banks (scored on a punt return) are asserting themselves in practice and in last week’s preseason opener, Kelly can only go through the pre-practice walk-through before moving to a side field for rehabilitation. “Obviously, if he can’t practice, he can’t show me anything,” Shanahan said. “He’s doing everything he can with his treatment to get that hamstring better and that’s all he can do.” Shanahan hopes Kelly can return for the final two preseason games. “He’ll get an opportunity hopefully in the next week to come back full speed,” Shanahan said.
