Still No Talks Between Titans, Free Agent C Kevin Mawae

Center Kevin Mawae doesn’t appear to be any closer to a new contract than he was five weeks ago. Mawae’s agent, Mark Bartelstein, said Wednesday the market is quiet regarding the 16-year veteran, who is coming off his eighth Pro Bowl appearance. Mawae has expressed a desire to return to the Titans and the two sides had some preliminary talks on that topic a couple of months ago. But there hasn’t been much communication between the Titans and Mawae of late. "We thought he’d hear back from the Titans a few weeks ago and we haven’t heard anything from them,’’ Bartelstein said. "We’re kind of at a standstill with everyone else.’’ Asked if he was still expecting to hear from the Titans, Bartelstein said the door remains open. "We’re just kind of waiting to see what’s going to happen here,’’ Bartelstein said. "We haven’t heard anything yet. We’re just kind of waiting to see how it plays out.’’

geez, just give the guy a 1 year deal for $5 mill or something like that. he's obviously still playing at a high level and wants to keep playing. wtf is the problem?
