As he continues to recover, the Redskins are hopeful third-year wideouts Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly inspire confidence for the remainder of the offseason program. If Moss is out for any point this season, Thomas and Kelly appear to be the Redskins' best options at the position. Kelly opened last season as the starting Z receiver, or flanker, opposite Moss, the split end or X receiver. The previous regime planned for Thomas to eventually replace Moss at X, which is usually the position reserved for wideouts with momentum-changing, stretch-the-field speed, which Thomas possesses, and for Kelly to be a chain-moving big target.
