Patriots, OG Logan Mankins Both Far Apart In Contract Talks

The New England Patriots have begun talking with veteran offensive guard Logan Mankins about a long-term contract extension, a development that coincides with owner Robert Kraft expressing a desire to lock up the standout blocker for the future. However, no deal is imminent. It's quite the opposite. ”There has been discussions,” agent Frank Bauer told the Boston Herald. ”We’re pretty far apart. Let’s leave it at that.” Bauer declined to say whether Mankins will begin attending voluntary activities or a mandatory minicamp in June. “No, I have no comment on that,” Bauer answered.
