John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports via Twitter that Texans RB Steve Slaton declared himself 100% recovered from offseason neck surgery. Slaton's also dropped 15 pounds since the season, and is down to 200. The weight loss is a positive after he ran sluggishly for most of 2009 before the season-ending neck injury. Slaton's cervical fusion surgery remains a major concern, and he's not going to be rushed back into workouts anytime soon. His ceiling for 2010 is probably as the Texans' primary third-down back.
