| Panthers LB Thomas Davis Willing To Wait For A New Deal | | | Panthers outside linebacker Thomas Davis says he doesn't expect the team to try to sign him to a long-term deal anytime soon, but that he doesn't plan on going anywhere else. "I feel like it's something that happens down the road," said Davis, acknowledging that the labor dispute between NFL owners and the players' association has the Panthers and other teams hesitant to sign a player to a lucrative new deal until after a new collective-bargaining agreement is in place. "I'm definitely looking to finish my career here and (am) very excited about the possibility," he said. "I've just got to line up and play football and make this team want to sign me to a long-term deal." Source: Charlotte Observer | | |
