| Jets Talked To Free Agent WR Laveranues Coles This Week | | | As head coach Rex Ryan promised they would at the March NFL meetings, the Jets finally spoke to wide receiver Laveranues Coles this week about a possible return but a source close to the situation described the Jets' interest as minimal and emphasized that "nothing is anywhere close to imminent." The Jets don't appear to have room for Coles with Santonio Holmes, Braylon Edwards and Jerricho Cotchery on the roster, but Holmes is suspended for the first four regular-season games and the Jets are open to Coles as a fallback option. The Jets still are bound by the NFL's "Final Four" restrictions on signing unrestricted free agents, but Coles is fair game for Gang Green because he was released by another team.
