Titans QB Kerry Collins Not Worried About Contract Situation

Titans quarterback Kerry Collins knows he's scheduled to make a lot of money to be a backup quarterback. When he signed the $14 Million contract last offseason, the $5.5 Million salary for 2010 was supposed to pay him as a starter but things changed, of course, when Vince Young replaced him last season and now there are two more quarterbacks on the roster: Chris Simms and draft pick Rusty Smith. "I got the indication, from what Jeff (Fisher) said, that they want me here and the money is not a problem,'' Collins said today. "So I am looking forward to being here. I would like to be starting, but that is kind of the way it is.'' Ask if he suspects the Titans will ask him to take a pay cut a some point, Collins said: "I haven't gotten that indication and until then I'm not going to think about it." Asked what he would do if the Titans ask him to take a cut, Collins said he doesn't deal in hypothetical situations: "Every indication I have gotten from them is that I am going to be here and I am going off of what Jeff has said publicly: money is not a problem. I trust him and I am going to move forward from there.''

If Vince loses the starting spot they need a reliable and seasoned Plan B.
