Tony Scheffler knew he might get traded, but acknowledged he was a little surprised when he found out it was the Lions who were interested. After all, the Lions spent a first-round draft pick on a tight end — Brandon Pettigrew — last season. “Obviously, when you get that phone call, you look at the roster and do a quick analysis. That was one of the things that came up,” Scheffler said. “All great offenses have multiple weapons, but it’s up to the coaches, this great coaching staff here, to find places for guys and create opportunities. “I think there’s room for everybody here to make plays.”
