| Jeff Fisher Says Titans QB Kerry Collins Is Still In The Team's Plans | | | Titans head coach Jeff Fisher said the addition of Chris Simms to the depth chart at quarterback was not a signal to Kerry Collins that his days with the team are numbered. It is thought by many that signing Simms to the roster would allow the Titans some leverage in restructuring Collins' contract which is in the second year of a two year deal he signed following the 2008 season when he led Tennessee to a 13-3 record and the top seed in the AFC, but the current contract would pay him as the team's starting quarterback -- $5.5 million in 2010. Fisher said Collins should not be worried that the addition of Simms could spell the end of his Titans tenure but he did say however that it will create competition during training camp for the back up role behind Young. ''I don't have any problem whatsoever with Kerry,'' Fisher said. ''I'm sure he's going to come back and understand his role. He's enjoying the offseason and he'll be fine.''
