| Redskins LB Lorenzo Alexander Calls Out Albert Haynesworth | | | Redskins linebacker Lorenzo Alexander stopped by the Mike Wise Show this week to discuss his charity bike ride, and much of the conversation centered around a certain defensive lineman who hasn't spent much time at Redskins Park this offseason. When a caller defended Albert Haynesworth's performance a year ago, Alexander offered his most pointed words. "I'm not saying we're blaming him for the 4-12 season," Alexander said. "I'm not saying that at all. I mean, Albert definitely was a force when he was out there, and I do understand, and we do understand, he's 350 [pounds]. You're out there getting double-, triple-teamed, I mean, you are gonna get tired. But we're talking more about the whole attitude thing toward this new season, and just coming out and just being more of a team player. I know he has issues with the coaching staff, but I just really want him to just come around and be a good teammate. I mean, that's really what everybody wants, is being a good teammate, and just forgetting about 3-4, 4-3. Just go out here, lets play football and get some Ws and win some games." Alexander said he wouldn't reach out to Haynesworth to deliver such a message, but that he hoped one of the team's respected veterans like London Fletcher, Santana Moss or Donovan McNabb might engage in some outreach. "I don't personally know what his issues are with the 3-4 or with the coaching staff," Alexander said. "But having a guy like London go in and talk to him and see what everything's about and really try to get him to understand that we're out here to win a Super Bowl in the long run and we need you to do that. Just get on board and just try it. I mean, at least try it out and play in it and who knows, you might make some plays if you go out there. But if you don't show up and don't want to participate, you're never gonna know, you're just gonna create more issues for everybody. I just want him to come out and give it a shot, and if it's something he doesn't really like and it's not working for him, then be upset, but at least give it a try first."
