Cowboys Release Veteran FS Ken Hamlin

The Dallas Cowboys started the purge of some under achieving veterans when they cut starting free safety Ken Hamlin on Friday morning, according to multiple sources. Hamlin was coming off an average season where he finished with 74 tackles, no interceptions and four pass breakups while also missing four games with a high ankle sprain. The Cowboys signed Hamlin to a six-year $39 million deal after his Pro Bowl season in Seattle in 2007 but he never came close to giving them the same production in Dallas.

I didnt think this was a smart signing to begin with, he's just not a centerfielder, he can still be a good player playing closer to the line of scrimmage
