| Giants' Gerris Wilkinson In The Mix To Start At Middle Linebacker | | | A few days ago, Giants GM Jerry Reese indicated that the Giants might have a few overlooked internal candidates to fill the team’s gaping hole at middle linebacker. Gerris Wilkinson is apparently one of them. The oft-injured linebacker, who has played outside linebacker since he was drafted in 2006, said today that the Giants have indicated to him that he’ll be making the switch to middle linebacker this year, which puts him in the competition along with Jonathan Goff and Chase Blackburn to fill the hole created when the Giants cut Antonio Pierce. “What I have in my mind is playing middle right now,” he said. “That’s what they’ve talked to me about playing. That’s what I want to play.” Source: NY Daily News | | |
