Texans coach Gary Kubiak dearly wanted Leigh Bodden on his team. He had him in Houston for a free agent visit, and wined and dined the free agent, only to see the cornerback return to the Patriots, as Bodden signed a 4-year $22 million deal. How disappointed was the Texans coach? ”That’s part of free agency. We had a great visit with him,” Kubiak said. ”We knew were were competing not only against New England, but with somebody else, I think it was either Arizona or Seattle. But we had a good visit. It didn’t work out. He’s a good kid. A good football player. Any time you have such a successful organization like the Patriots, it’s going to be difficult (to pry someone away). That’s part of it.”
