Patriots Sign Free Agent TE Alge Crumpler

The Patriots have started the process of rebuilding their tight end position. Alge Crumpler's camp has informed the Tennessee Titans that they've come to an agreement with New England, according to a source. Tennessee would've liked to have kept the 32-year-old Crumpler, because -- even with his once-prominent ability in the passing game declining -- he played such a major part in the Titans' vaunted running game, and the 2,000-yard season of Chris Johnson.

Nope, not yet. It is late in the day, details probably will not come out till tomorrow. You know the Patriots never tell anything.

That will help the TE position, and I would expect to see a young TE drafted before the end of round 2

Rebuilding the TE position with a 32 year old? Sounds like a short term solution to me...

The Patriots have scheduled a visit with Hernandez FYI

I don't think Crumpler is an upgrade over Baker, but who knows, maybe the Pats wanted more of a blocker at tight end.

at this point crumpler is pushing 3 bills in weight, hes a fantastic blocker and has some hands on him so not a bad signing at all. they will get a recieving TE in the draft....hernandez, gresham, gronkowski, graham ect
