Chargers RFA Charlie Whitehurst Wants To Sign With The Seahawks

Restricted free-agent quarterback Charlie Whitehurst will sign his tender from the Chargers on Wednesday, according to a league source, which would be a necessary step as part of a trade. Whitehurst indicates his preference is to sign with Seattle, and is awaiting the Chargers and Seahawks to agree to a trade, according to a league source. Whitehurst, the son of former NFL quarterback David Whitehurst, was extended a third-round tender by the Chargers, which would be the compensation if they would choose not to match an offer sheet but the Seahawks do not have a third-round pick, however, and thus would have to work out a deal with the Chargers.
