New York Could Lose Super Bowl Bid Because Of Jets Owner

Woody Johnson's attack of Roger Goodell over the coin-flip flap could cost New York its chance to host the 2014 Super Bowl, and has left the Giants angry, a league source told the Daily News Tuesday night. The bid to host Super Bowl XLVIII is due in the NFL office on April 1 with the Giants and Jets set to make their presentations to the other 30 owners May 24-26 in Dallas and until Johnson's outburst over the coin flip that determined the Giants would host the first regular-season game at the new Meadowlands football stadium, New York had been considered the favorite - sentimental and otherwise - to get the game, which would be the first Super Bowl played outdoors in a cold-weather city. Now that bid is in jeopardy, a source familiar with the conversation between the two teams and the league office regarding the controversy over the opener outlined the problem now facing the Giants' and Jets' attempt to get the game at the new stadium: Johnson questioned the authority and integrity of the commissioner, who has been very supportive of the New York bid.

Wait... the league is really considering hosting the Super Bowl festivities in a cold-weather place?
I guess they'll use this stupid coin flip story to move it to Florida... again.

Goodell wouldn't be that petty and immature.

Oops, my bad, I was thinking of someone else.

Unlucky, New York.

i dont buy the cold city super bowl.... just doesnt sound fair when theres great outdoor places for years COUGH COUGH green bay,kc, chitown, why the hell would NY get one now? no one wants a SB in buffalo or new england? bull. keep it down south so we can get a decent game. who wants to watch a freezing rain bullshit game, lets keep it fair for both teams and have it hopefully in decent weather in the south.

I'm gonna keep bringing up the same lame argument over and over and over and over until this bullshit goes away.

What would have happened if the Super Bowl was hosted in NY this year?

It would have been a disaster.

Thank you, case closed.

Well I'll keep giving you the same stupid ass answer then.

The game would have played fine just like the regular season. It may have been a pain in the ass to get too, but I'm sure the city would have don't all the could to accommodate. The game would go on and people would have watched. How horrible.
