Steelers Want To Sign QB Byron Leftwich When Released?

There are rumors circulating that the Steelers are waiting for quarterback Byron Leftwich to be let go by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers so they could sign him. An NFL source did confirm this for Examiner.com. But depending on how the Ben Roethlisberger situation plays out, the Steelers may even look towards the draft for a player that they can groom for the future.

He knows the offense, This will give Dixon another year of learning before being forced to start possibly, I like the move.

True, I think if Ben got suspended 8 games or something Byron would at the very least have us sitting at 4-4.

I'd be happy with Byron at QB and a 4-4 record if a suspension were the case.
