Adam Schefter of ESPN reports via twitter that free agent running back LaDainian Tomlinson has reached an agreement on a two-year deal with the New York Jets. Tomlinson spent Thursday with the Minnesota Vikings, Friday with the Jets and Saturday flying home to San Diego. Tomlinson is expected to share carries with running back Shonn Greene.

Might be the best fit for him. Sooo now the Jets don't have to worry about giving into Leon's demands. And with Shonn Greene only in his 2nd year this could be a 50-50 split carries situation.

Still dont get why they jus didnt resign TJ but this is a decent fit, he can catch out of the backfield and will block so that'll get him alot of 3rd down work
Oh well. I wonder if he looked at their schedule for next year, there away games are as follows.
Buffalo, Miami, New England, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Detroit, and Denver. Their only indoor game the entire year is Detroit. Some potential to freeze his ass off.
I cannot wait myself for the terms of this deal to come out.
If its anywhere near the Thomas Jones deal, it'll be a solid signing. The Jets probably viewed Shonne Greene as a similar runner than TJ which may have been another factor into his release.
So, this makes sense? You cut someone who just had the best year of their career and sign someone who's been slowly declining. By the way, playing in New York requires cold weather runners, for example, Shonne Greene, Thomas Jones.
