Raiders QB Bruce Gradkowski Looking Forward To Starting Competition

Whether it was expected or not, the Oakland Raiders did not have a good football team in 2009 yet, they did have a couple bright spots like having four of their wins be against teams with .500 or better records. Bruce Gradkowski, not former first-overall pick JaMarcus Russell, was at the helm for two of those big wins of the the four games he started before going down with an injury. Gradkowski's performance down the stretch has earned him a chance to compete for the starting job, something he says he is looking forward to. “I did hear that and that’s what the word is around town. I am excited. I look forward to the opportunity. Being a competitor, I always think that competition makes you better. Going into the year, I think that’s the way it should be and the way it always should be because that’s what this game is about. The best players should be out there on the field. I look forward to it. It’s going to be exciting. Hopefully the Raider fans will be behind us from day one. They can be a part of this thing when we turn it around because we do have the best fans and that’s one of the best things about being an Oakland Raider.”

Yea, he was on KNBR a few days ago. I really don't care who starts.. WE NEED TO WIN!
If it's JaWalrus great, if it's Gradkowski great, if it's Frye.. great. Again, I could care less who's the starter.. as long as we pile up wins that's all that matters!

Bruce has gotta be the only one in Oakland who is looking forward to the idea of him getting a shot at being the starting QB.
