Bengals Re-Sign SS Roy Williams To A One-Year Deal

Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports via Twitter the Bengals have reached a one-year deal with SS Roy Williams. Williams, who will be entering his ninth season, started four games and had 30 tackles with three passes defended, but he missed most of the year due to a recurring forearm injury suffered in Week 3 against Pittsburgh. It was the same forearm he injured in 2008 with Dallas.

Maybe the Bengals need someone to horsecollar other players?

He ran into problems in Dallas when he was asked to be more than a run stuffing strong safety. His coverage skills didn't work out in Big D but when healthy (and that to me is the biggest if at this point) he fits the Bengals scheme perfectly.

He was never the same after his shoulder injury

Guy was a flat out catalyst, once he had that should injury, that took away his game

Did have surprisingly good ball skills for a weak coverage Safety
