Packers Sign NT Ryan Pickett To An Extension Through 2013

The Packers announced at Fan Fest that Packers nose tackle Ryan Pickett has been signed through 2013. "He has been a key part of our defense and we look forward to having Ryan be a part of our future in Green Bay," said GM Ted Thompson in a released statement. Pickett is a nine-year veteran and he's here at Fan Fest, he just inked the deal in Russ Ball's office, as did Nick Collins, before rejoining the festivities at Fan Fest. Pickett just found out this morning that he would get a new deal, which came as a surprise to him. "I signed the papers today," said Pickett. "We've been working on this off and on for a year. I'm just happy to stay in Green Bay." It meant the world to him to be here, his family likes it here; he loves to fish, he's a small town guy, he loves being part of the Green Bay community.
