Jets Had The Chance To Match Chiefs Offer For RB Thomas Jones

According to a league source, the Jets had the opportunity to match the Chiefs two-year, $5 Million contract offer to running back Thomas Jones. The Jets however declined to do so. Jones was set to make $5.8 Million with the Jets in 2010 but the team wanted him to restructure his deal, and released him when he refused.
