| Free Agent CB Leigh Bodden Hopes To Get A Deal Done With The Texans | | | Judging by what he said, free agent cornerback Leigh Bodden is ready to sign with the Texans if they come up with the cash. It was believed he’d give the Patriots a chance to match an offer, but it doesn’t sound like that is the case. ”I think it’s great having a team like the Houston Texans being interested in me,” Bodden said in an interview with FOX 26 Sports at Houston’s Hobby Airport. “I’m just going to go here, meet the coaches, and hopefully everything goes good.” When asked if he had other teams scheduled for visits, Bodden replied: “I do, but hopefully I don’t need it. Hopefully, I can get things done with the Texans and just move on,” he said. While it sounds like he wants to move on, he hasn’t totally slammed the door shut on the Patriots if they don’t mind meeting his demands, which could be in the $4-to-$5 million a year vicinity. “I had a good year there, but it’s all about who wants me,” Bodden said when asked about the Patriots. “If they want me, they can get me. If Houston wants me, they can get me. I’m just here to see what these guys have to offer and just meet the coaches.”
