Bears, DE Julius Peppers Finalize A Six-Year Contract

The Bears and Julius Peppers finalized a six-year deal to bring the top free agent in 2010 to Chicago, according to a source. Peppers was looking for at least $12 million a year in the early part of the contract and agreement could be worth $40 million over the first three years. The 6-foot-7, 283-pound Peppers is a five-time Pro Bowler who recorded 10.5 sacks with two interceptions and five forced fumbles last season.

Can't get too excited since the Bears history is to do 1 big splash, if anything, then sit on their laurels while acting like the job is done.

Just enough to keep Bear fans hoping...

Well so far they have addressed multiple areas already today so hopefully they are planning to take advantage of free agency to cover for the lack of early draft picks.

Maybe I've missed a new headline but Peppers is a good pickup, Taylor an upgrade but not worth the money with all the other critical needs, & Manumaleuna a non issue.

There's gonna need to be more impressive moves before I'll take notice.

Exactly...

It's a bean counter mentality in Chicago, first & foremost.
