Alvin Keels, the agent for free safety Gibril Wilson reports via twitter that the Dolphins will release Wilson today. Keels says Wilson will be free to sign with any other team. Wilson signed a five-year, $27.5 million contract last March with the Dolphins that paid him $8 million guaranteed but struggled throughout last season.

Poor Gibril.

He never really seemed to catch on with the Raiders and Dolphins after we parted ways with him after our historic run in the 2007 season.

Hope this doesn't mean they will steal Rolle from us.

Wilson's agent Alvin Keels broke the news on Twitter and will be looking to break the bank again. Jeff Darlington of the Miami Herald points out that Wilson has earned an amazing $24 million in guaranteed money for two one-and-done seasons in Oakland and Miami.

He got paid 24 million the past two years

He was another (but to a lesser extent than Hall) Double Jeopardy Raider signing

Got all his guaranteed money in one year with the Raiders, then got 8 million more with Miami. And will get more guarenteed money this offseason.

I hope that is true...

The Giants may be in the drivers' seat with Antrel Rolle, but they're not an absolute lock to get him.

One of the guys on air on their round table said it was 95%, so we'll see how much that jerkoff really knows when Rolle signs. The move of releasing Gibril Wilson however may indicate otherwise. But then again they were probably going to release him regardless so the timing of the move probably means jack.
