Former Chargers quarterback Ryan Leaf might be heading to trial on burglary and drug charges in Texas. According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, plea bargain attempts have broken down. Now, Leaf could face as much as 20 years in prison on the burglary charge if convicted and given a maximum sentence by a Texas judge. “Next docket call, we’ll tell the court we’re ready for trial, because we’re not going to sit around forever,” district attorney James Farren said. “So if he wants to plead his case, he better get on the stick because it’s been on the docket awhile.”
