The Colts don't have a history of throwing a lot of money at linebackers and Gary Brackett, the team's defensive captain this past season, could be a hot option on the free agent market this offseason. Brackett sounds like he's seeking big bucks after he accepted a fairly modest contract from Indianapolis a few years ago. With no cap issues to worry about the Colts could move quickly to re-sign him, but Don Banks of Sports Illustrated writes that it's more likely that they'll allow him to find out what he's worth on the open market.
Before Ellerbe's emergence, I'd want the Ravens to go after him, but with Ayanbadejo coming back healthy and Suggs hopefully ready to become himself again, our linebacker corps is set.
