32-year-old offensive tackle Mark Tauscher was a godsend this past season for the Packers after Allen Barbre was not ready for prime time and 2008 draft pick Breno Giacomini proved too raw to play. Two knee-reconstruction surgeries have robbed Tauscher of athleticism, but he showed he still can play full time if needed, and his knee should be healthier this year. He could be relatively inexpensive unrestricted free agent because of his age, injury history and ties to the state and Tauscher would provide a steady influence even if he’s a backup to T.J. Lang and Breno Giacomini.
