Chiefs Coach Todd Haley Could Retain Clancy Pendergast

Head coach Todd Haley indicated former Chiefs Defensive Coordinator Clancy Pendergast could stay, likely as a position coach. "I would imagine he would be coaching a position. Again, we are adding another guy to the mix and Romeo is going to be in charge of the ultimate defense. But every one of those guys plays a critical role and I am fortunate enough that, last year and now this year, I have a bunch of guys who have run the defense before, guys that have been coordinators, some of them that have been head coaches, Romeo being one of those. If the fit is good and I know that everybody can work together towards the common goal then we have a chance to succeed and that is what is going on right now. I know Gary Gibbs is going to coach linebackers and Clancy was coaching the defensive backs last year, and that is where I would think he would stay."
