QB Brodie Croyle In Chiefs Long-Term Plans?

Brodie Croyle started the season-opener in Baltimore in place of the injured Matt Cassel and played one of his better games for the Chiefs. But he threw only 16 passes the rest of the season and appeared to be expendable given the Chiefs' commitment to Cassel and the fact Croyle was drafted by the previous regime. His contract is up, and Croyle would be a free agent - either unrestricted or restricted - depending on the fate of the efforts to renew the collective-bargaining agreement. "He played, and I foresee (Croyle) playing a critical role for us as we go forward," Todd Haley said. "That's a critical spot. He's a guy that developed as the year went on and gained confidence in what we were doing. He was able to help Matt on a day-to-day basis. In that group, it's pretty critical that there's a cohesiveness, and that's not always the case because everybody wants to play and everybody can't play."

A backup in KC is a backup anywhere else.

suprisingly he had taken some good hits this year and he didnt get hurt. id like 2 keep him. because we dont have anyone after Cassel, but him.
