The Cincinnati Bengals have placed backup DT Pat Sims on injured reserve, Sims, a second-year player from Auburn University, suffered a forearm fracture in yesterday's game at the New York Jets. He played in all 16 regular season games, with seven starts, compiling 36 tackles, a shared sack and a fumble recovery. The loss of Sims is big because he was primarily Cincinnati's first defensive tackle off the bench this season, the team will have to rely on veteran DT Shaun Smith for more snaps than first expected when they signed him a few weeks ago.
