Lions Sign Veteran Free Agent QB Patrick Ramsey

The Lions signed free-agent quarterback Patrick Ramsey, an eight-year NFL veteran, on Saturday, replacing rookie Matthew Stafford, who was officially placed on injured reserve. Ramsey, who'll wear jersey No. 14 and serve as the Lions' emergency third quarterback Sunday at San Francisco, joins his fifth NFL team since the Washington Redskins made him a first-round pick in 2002. Ramsey, 30, was released by the Tennessee Titans in October.
