Lions Announce QB Drew Stanton Will Start Vs. 49ers

The Detroit Lions announced today that Drew Stanton will start at quarterback Sunday at San Francisco, getting the nod over Daunte Culpepper. Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford (shoulder) did not participate in the portion of practice open to reporters today. Culpepper, who had taken over from Stafford, was benched at halftime of Sunday’s 31-24 loss to Arizona.
