The defensive end has no sacks and two tackles and that isn’t much of a return on the investment of a 2010 second-round draft pick the Bears gave the Bucs to acquire Adams earlier this fall. His lack of production hasn’t discouraged them and they believe he still could be a starter or third end next season, no one will know until then whether Adams is a player who reached his plateau after two seasons with the Bucs, as some suspect, or whether he will fulfill his enormous potential. “It’s a learning process when you come in during the middle of the season,” Bears defensive line coach Rod Marinelli said. “You have to take him for everything he is right now. But in the offseason, you strip the chrome off him … and then work on everything.” Source: Chicago Tribune | | |
