| Redskins LB Brian Orakpo Close To Setting Rookie NFL Record For Sacks | | | Titans defensive end Jevon Kearse said he hasn't paid much attention to Redskins rookie Brian Orakpo but that might change now that the University of Texas product is within reach of Kearse's rookie sack record. Orakpo had four sacks Sunday at Oakland, increasing his total to 11 which is three behind Jevon Kearse who set his mark of 14.5 during the Titans' Super Bowl season of 1999. "I haven't really been following this kid," Kearse said, "so I need to check him out." Kearse said the challenge in transforming from an All-American pass rusher to Pro Bowl player is evolution. "You may get them in the first couple of games, but after that, everybody is watching film and you're not a secret," said Kearse, an 11th-year pro with 74 career sacks. You have to know how to adapt your game. If your thing is a speed rush and now they're playing you for speed, you have to know how to counter." Source: The Tennessean | | |
