Colts To Dump Backup QB Jim Sorgi After This Year?

Don't be stunned if Colts backup QB Jim Sorgi, who had been battling a right shoulder injury since early November and was placed on injured reserve this week, is not back with the team next season. Pro Football Weekly hears the team could be leaning toward sticking with the younger, healthier Curtis Painter as Peyton Manning's backup beyond this season. Sorgi, the Colts’ backup quarterback since 2004, was placed on injured reserve with a right shoulder injury Wednesday.
