Rams QB Marc Bulger Refuses To Speculate On His Future

Rams quarterback Marc Bulger refused to discus whether he'll be back with the team next season in his first interview since learning that he had fractured shin bone. "Sure,'' Bulger said when asked if he'd like to be back next season. "We got six weeks to go in the season. Whether I come back this year or not, we'll see. I don't even want to talk about that. We'll have plenty of time in the offseason to make those decisions around here. We have a quarter, a third, of the season to go and I don't want to be a distraction in any way." Bulger will be sidelined 3-6 weeks, but he said he'd like to play again this season. "We're thinking optimistic around here,'' Bulger said. "There are a lot of reasons why I'd like to come back for a couple games. No. 1 being to win more games, but we'll see. I'd hate to say that I'm going to be back or I'm not going to be back. We'll play it by ear and by this time next week we'll have a little bit better feel." Bulger has bore much of the blame for the Rams' struggles over the last few seasons and when asked if he thought that was fair, Bulger said, "I don't have an opinion either way. I think you go to any team in the NFL right now, well maybe 30 teams, and the quarterback's getting grief one week or another, whether it's a Pro Bowl guy or a team that's 9-1 or 8-2. It comes with the position. It sounds like a clichι, but you know what you're getting yourself into. It's part of your job, and if you can't take it, then become a punter.''

He was among the best quarterbacks in the league at one time, but he's lost alot of arm strength and confidence. Plus the injuries seemed to have affected him.

Everything went downhill when he got his payday (Funnily enough). He was always injury prone but his arm and like you said his confidence is dead, along with his always poor mobility.

No doubt someone will give him a backup gig, but he's definitely finished as a starter.
