Browns WR Josh Cribbs Says QB Brady Quinn Called Last Play

Browns receiver Josh Cribbs confirmed today that his lateral on the final play of Monday's game that resulted in a neck injury was not a coach's decision, but his interpretation of Brady Quinn's directive to keep the ball alive. "It was a call at the line,'' said Cribbs. "It wasn't a call that came in from the coaches. Brady had let us know to keep the ball alive, that he was going to throw the slant to me at the line and to keep the ball alive. He gave the signal to keep it alive, but it wasn't a call that came in from the sideline.'' Cribbs flipped the ball to Robert Royal after a 10-yard slant and was immediately drilled under the chin by Dwan Edwards. Cribbs was immobilized on a board and taken to the Cleveland Clinic, where all tests were negative.

It was the QB or the Coach. He is making Brownie points with the coach. Pun intended.

He should have just listened to my late great Father who taught me, "It is better to remain silent and to be thought a fool, than to open ones mouth and remove all doubt."

IT's going to take a while to rebuild this team. What self respecting free agent would want to come to this fucking mess?

In Cribbs' defense, I'd be a little bitter taking the pummeling that was clearly meant for Quinn, too. Doesn't make it right to point it out, jus' sayin'.

As the best player on the team, he can say whatever he wants.
