49ers QB Alex Smith Will Remain As The Starter For 2009

The Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports that, barring injury, Alex Smith will remain the 49ers' starting quarterback for the duration of the season. Since supplanting Shaun Hill, Smith has completed passes at a higher rate, averaged more yards per pass attempt and taken less sacks than his predecessor.
